COVID-19 Pandemic Changes
Our process for Hamper request and pickup has been modified to deal with the challenges of COVID-19. Please see below and check this website regularly for other changes.

How To Make A Hamper Request during COVID-19
Note that clients may use the food bank twice a month for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Clients will not be allowed into the building during the COVID-19 pandemic and must request hampers in advance by phone or online.
Hampers will be packed by our volunteers and you will be given a pick-up time for Tuesday between 1:00 – 3:00 PM and your hamper will be placed outside for you to load into your vehicle.
Our intake phone line (403-612-1291) is open Monday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. You will be given a hamper pick up time for Tuesday between 1:00 – 3:00 PM.
You also have the option to use the “Request A Hamper” form on this page to submit your Hamper Request. Submissions can be done any day up to Tuesday at 12:00 PM. You will receive a call or email confirming your pickup time for Tuesday afternoon.
Recycle Egg Cartons and Plastic Bags
We ask clients to please donate empty egg cartons & grocery bags which we can recycle and reuse (after placing them in quarantine for 1 week). We will put a plastic bin outside the door on Tuesday and you may drop them in there.

Residents of Turner Valley, Black Diamond, Longview, Priddis, Millarville and part of the MD can use Oilfields Food Bank. Please contact us through a phone call (403-612-1291) or submit a hamper request using the form on this page.
Are You A First Time User?
If you are a new user please bring a piece of photo I.D. and proof of your residence (e.g., utility bill). You may also be asked for proof of income, housing costs, I.D. for dependent children or information on other adults in the same residence. In some circumstances we may ask for additional proof of need.
How Often Can I Use The Food Bank?
During COVID-19 you can use the food bank twice a month.
Normally, you can receive a hamper six times in a 12-month period. There is no time limit between visits.
If you require more assistance than this you will be referred to the Okotoks Family Resource Centre (OFRC) and they will meet with you and provide a referral letter which will allow you to receive additional food support.
What Kind of Items Do We Provide?
At this moment in time, we may not receive all of the things we order so there may be some gaps but we will supplement these with as many different items as we can from our inventory and do our very best for you.
We provide eggs, margarine, milk, yogurt, cheese, fresh produce, frozen meat and vegetables, bread and a variety of non-perishable food items.
We also include personal care & cleaning items and when it is available, pet food.
Alberta SPCA Introduces Help for Animals Program
We have introduced the Help for Animals Program that can offer pet food to those in need due to issues related to COVID such as illness, self-isolation or economic hardship. We know that many people who have pets will ensure their animals are fed first, therefore depriving themselves. Our program ensures they can feed pets without taking money from their own food budgets to do so.

Once Albertans fill out the form on our website, we will call them to confirm details of their situation and make arrangements to ensure people receive the much needed pet food. While primarily geared towards people with pets, we may be able to provide those with livestock some feed to carry those animals through until pasture is available.
Every December we provide a special Christmas Hamper for anyone who can use our help at this time of year. Watch the website and we will update the information when we get closer to December with instructions on how to put in your hamper request.
We provide food for all 3 meals on Christmas Day from breakfast to lunch to your holiday dinner. You may choose from a turkey or ham. Other non-perishable food items are included.
The Christmas hamper does not count as one of your 6 visits during the year.
We do not provide toys with our hampers however we contribute money to The Salvation Army in High River so that parents who live in the Oilfields Food Bank area may contact them and they will take all the necessary details and put together toys for your kids and teens which you can pick up from them.
